A MMG and 65mm Gun

Infantry stand and 47mm AT

These are all based on 3/4" Litkoaero wood stands with a flexsteel base. The ground cover is from woodland scenics and applied by painting the base a sand color and while wet putting on the ground cover.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 7pm turn Game End

The final turn of the game and in the rebel move they assault the town and the ridge line in a bid to win the game.

A closer view of the final confederate assaults on the town and the ridge. The massed artillery on the ridge and by the town are ready to support the attack.

With a rebel yell the confederates stormed the ridge and destroyed the union inf brigades in the town and on the flank and overran an artillery battalion outside the town.

A close up of the massed confederate artillery on the ridge.

The situation at the end of the confederate turn. They own the town and the ridge and it looks like the only thing the union can try for now is a draw by taking back the ridge.

The union push forward their desperate assault to regain the ridge.

And failed completely. Both assaults on the ridge didn't dislodge the rebels. Decisive victory to the confederates as they hold both the town and cemetery ridge.

The final positions on the map at the end of the game. I hope you have enjoyed this action. I am working on finishing the troops for the 2nd day of Gettysburg and hope to be able to set this up by July.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 6pm turn

The confederate 6pm turn and a renewed assault all across the board. Is there time left to capture the town and cemetery ridge.

But it goes bad from the start with the brigade from Rhodes' Division failing its morale check and then routing the brigade behind it on the retreat. Can they still capture the town.

The massed rebel artillery does its job and eliminates the union brigade in the town.

The end of the 6pm confederate turn and the town is back in their hands and the assault on the right flank is working but they failed on the left flank to push back XII Corp.

The union turn and assaults across the front with a another assault on the town. Who will eventually be able to take hold of it.

The situation at the end of the 6pm turn. The union has captured back part of the town but their attacks on the flanks have failed leaving an opening for the rebels.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 5pm turn

Anderson's Division arrives.

The confederates renew the assault on the town.

Early's division starts to flank the union on the left flank.

End of the rebel turn and the town is partially back in their possession.

During the union turn they occupy the town and assault the other half. Also the XII Corp arrives on the union right flank to stem Early's flanking attempt.

Rally round the flag! The union assault on the town is devastating. 3rd Division XI Corp does the job and retakes the town.

Here's the situation at the end of the 5pm turn.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 4pm turn

The rebel move and again an assault on the town.

The Union 2nd Brigade 1st Div was eliminated in the combat but tried to make a good account of themselves but only caused one casualty with the great roll due to saving throws.

But overall it was not a good turn for the Confederacy they destroyed one unit in the town but failed to cause any casualties on the other and lost the melee. Also the attack on the left flank failed to show any progress.

The union move and they reoccupy the town and assault the confederate brigade near cemetary ridge.

The union is looking strong at this point. This is the situation at the end of the 4pm turn.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 3pm turn

The rebel move during the 3pm turn. A major assault on their right flank and Lee and the corp commander are busy rallying routed brigades.

The combat was mixed for both sides with each losing a brigade routed but still no definite advantage for either.

The union once again assualts the town and the confederate units along their left flank.

And the town is retaken.

This is the situation at the end of the 3pm turn

3mm ACW Gettysburg 2pm turn

The rebel moves on the 2pm turn with Early's Div of II Corp arriving.

Lee calls for a assault all along the line.

After the assualt the rebels own part of the town and the union artillery is dispersed.

The union moves for the turn

A counter assault on the town.

And a battle along the ridge line.

The Iron Brigade is deadly accurate in their assualt on Pettigrews Brigade

But the battle along the ridge and the assualt on the town are both inconclusive. This is the situation at the end on the 2pm turn.

3mm ACW Gettysburg 1pm turn

The Confederate move on the 1pm turn

General Lee arrives to inspire the troops

His arrival got the artillery to finally perform and in the combat the iron brigade was forced to fall back and another cav skirm was eliminated.

The union on their turn fall back and consolidate the line around Gettysburg.

3mm ACW Gettysburg Noon turn

The Confederate movement for the noon turn. New reinforcements appear on the left flank.

Rhodes Div of II Corp shows up on the flank.

Once again the Rebel fire and melee were miserable with no hits and of course the union cav fired back and another reg was destroyed.

Durning the union turn the 2nd Div of I Corp occupied Gettysburg getting ready for the Rebels to appear.

The union combat was limited to one reg in range and was ineffective as was the confederate return fire. This is the situation at the end of the Noon turn.
